Record each incoming lot
Record the raw material, lot number, quantity, supplier and expiry date at goods receipt. Different lots of the same material remain separate stock records.

Link consumption to production
Consumption records on the production task identify the raw material lots used. FEFO supports selection of lots with earlier expiry dates; stock eligibility and quality status also need assessment.

Trace back from the finished batch
Search for the finished product lot number. Where links are recorded, the view shows the product, formula version, production task, consumed lots, suppliers and dates together.
An example in the application
In this example, shampoo batch F-DEMO-001 is linked to formula V2 and task UG-DEMO-001. Quantities and expiry dates for two consumed raw material lots appear below. These are demonstration records, not customer data.

About this workflow
Does expiry tracking replace quality release?
No. Date order, quality assessment and release are distinct decisions. Quarantine, roles and workflow controls are reviewed together during setup.
Can every historical or manually entered lot be fully traced?
Only recorded links can be displayed. Missing production tasks or consumption records do not create a complete history; the scope of these fields must be agreed during data migration.
