Cosmetics formula and raw material management

Which version of the sample formula reached production? Manufio connects formula versions, raw material lines and production tasks. Product sizes, filling and packaging requirements are considered within the same production process.

02Formula & materials

From the formula to the production task

  1. 01

    Define the formula version

Keep raw material lines, proportions and production information in the product’s formula version. Draft and approved states show which record the team is working with.

  2. 02

    Compare requirements with stock

Evaluate raw material requirements for the planned production quantity. Stock checks help reveal shortages; total stock alone does not describe every lot’s quality and conditions of use.

  3. 03

Follow the task with its linked version

See the linked formula version and current stage on the production task. Follow responsibilities across production, laboratory, filling and warehouse handover through the task record.

An example in the application

Both example shampoo tasks are linked to approved formula V2. One awaits acceptance and the other is in production. The task shows its version label, planned units and next action; this image is a task view, not the formula editor.

About this workflow

Can production start as soon as raw material stock is sufficient?

Stock quantity alone is not enough. Formula status, quality, packaging and required approvals also matter. Mandatory controls depend on the factory configuration.

Does formula costing show the actual net profit?

No. Formula-based costing differs from actual consumption, waste, manufacturing expenses, sales and period costs. The scope of these sources must be agreed for a complete net profit calculation.
